Navy Stuff
Back in September 2005, I decided to enlist in the US Navy. Since then I’ve learned quite a bit about what my Navy Life is going to be like through various resources around the net. I’ll try to gather as much of that knowledge as I can into this page.
Why did I join? Click here for my blog entry describing my reasoning.
I also created a list of links that have been helpful to me in learning about the Navy. See it here.
If you’re in the Delayed Entry Program (DEP), you may, like me, have some questions about the things you’re supposed to be learning to fulfill your “Personal Qualification Standards”, or PQS, before you enter boot camp. The handy-dandy little book they gave you at MEPS lists the PQS requirements, but doesn’t give you the info you need to pass them off. For those of us who don’t have time to drill their recruiter for all the answers, check out this PDF explaining the PQS requirements. It tells how to salute, how to march, and basically gives the answers to all those questions in the back of your DEP book.
